NEW COVID-19 PROTOCOLS TO KEEP YOU AND YOUR FAMILY SAFE - LEARN MORE
A complete dental exam is highly recommended to determine the status of your current oral health.
When you join Kiwi Dental as a new patient, a complete dental exam is recommended for a thorough examination of your teeth, gums and dental hygiene.
A full dental exam will ensure your teeth and gums are being well taken care of and free of cavities and other significant dental problems.
Things such as gum disease, oral cancer, tooth decay, cavities, infections, and a thin jawbone can lead to tooth loss.
You can expect X-rays like Panoramic, Bitewings and Itraorals to be taken at a patient exam; this will allow the dentist to see your jawbone and teeth structure for a better diagnosis.
Remember X-rays costs are not included in a dental exam; the dentist will determine what X-rays are needed at the appointment time.
With a complete dental exam, the dentist can create a personalized treatment plan of all the issues found in your mouth and which ones are priorities to be fixed to avoid more serious dental problems.
We recommend kids have their first dental exam as soon as they turn two years of age to make sure they are free of cavities. This also will help them get used to their new dentist for future dental and hygiene appointments.
