Teeth cleaning cost

The cost of teeth cleaning according to the Ontario Dental Association Fee Guide is as follow:
  • 1 unit of scaling $57
  • 2 units of scaling $114
  • 3 units of scaling $171
Each unit of scaling equals 15 minutes of teeth cleaning.
Most adults will need two to three units and kids will need about one to two units of scaling depending on their oral hygiene. The dental hygienist will do an assessment and let you know how many units of scaling you will need. 
Each person is different and only a hygienist or dentist can tell you how many units of scaling you will need to get your teeth completely clean.
Polish and Fluoride are extra but recommended to keep your teeth strong and healthy.
Most dental insurances will cover the cost of a dental cleaning.

Types of dental cleanings

Prophylaxis Cleaning: It is the type of cleaning that is performed for routine maintenance of oral health which includes removing plaques, and tartars on the teeth surface, gums and between the teeth.
